Biltmore Bliss

Happy Monday!

Hopefully everyone had a restful weekend and is surviving the start to the week!  Below is a quick update on our past weekend getaway!

Friday night marked my first dinner “tapas style” at Zambra with the Biermans.  We then headed over to Lexington Avenue Brewery for some much needed catch up time.  Still can’t believe we forgot to take pictures!

Saturday morning was kicked off with breakfast at Early Girl Eatery {poached eggs and avocado please} before setting off on our afternoon hike.  Little did we know the weather decided to close down the majority of Blue Ridge Parkway.  We made the most of it and found some small hikes and waterfalls along the way.  Did I mention the guys encouraged us to hike up a cliff?  Maybe small exaggeration but thankfully Paige and I made it down alive.  {Our husbands turn into kids when the outdoors is involved}

We ended Saturday night with a feast at Strada Italiano {Confession: I caved and had a piece of bread. You can never resist fresh baked bread Italian style} followed by more hangout time at The Blackbird.

Sadly all good things must come to an end, but at least it was a happy ending!  We went out with a bang Sunday.  Our last meal at Tupelo Honey was anything but ordinary.  With our tummies happy and satisfied, the hubs and I headed to the Biltmore for the rest of the day.  Downton Abbey anyone?  The only word that comes to mind is exquisite.

We are so thankful for a weekend with sweet friends.  Thanks for hanging out with us Josh and Paige!

Stay tuned for a delicious and easy recipe coming your way.  Not a fan of left overs?  One recipe. Multiple meals.
